Using version 4.5.13 of Events Calendar. I have four different event categories set up. If a specific event has the first category in the list (BDPNN Meetings) selected, it shows up without a problem in the calendar. However, if an event does not have that first event category selected, it will not display regardless if any/all of the other 3 event categories are selected for the event. I don’t see any setting that governs this issue.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

I’m not quite sure I follow … can you link me to one of the single events that are not showing up – and link me to the location where you expect to see it, but are not?

It will be easier to give you some further direction with a specific example ??

    Thanks!

    Hi Barry,

OK … so go to the Calendar on the website: https://bdpnnetwork.org/events/category/bdpnn-meeting/2017-09/?tribe_events_cat=bdpnn-meeting&tribe-bar-date=2017-09

This is the September calendar, but it will illustrate my point. There are two events listed. Click on either one and you will notice that under “Event Categories”, both “BDPNN Meetings” and “Community Activities” are listed. In reality, neither is really a “BDPNN Meeting”. However, if “BDPNN Meeting” is NOT selected from the series of check boxes under “Event Categories” in the dashboard, that event will not appear in the calendar. Doesn’t matter which other Event Categories are selected, the BDPNN Meeting seems to be a requirement for listing. Can you suggest a solution other than what we’re doing now which is always selecting BDPNN Meeting in addition to any other categories?

    Thanks … Mark.

    Hi @markolympic,

It is possible that you have your event categories set up so that they are hierarchical, meaning that there is a parent categories with other children categories nested underneath.

Here is our article on Event Categories, which has examples of this with screenshots: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/event-categories/

    I hope this helps!

    Hi @jaimemarchwinski,

I checked. The Parent Event Category is set to “none”. Any other thoughts as to why this is not working?

    Thanks, Mark.

    Hi @markolympic,

When you go to an event page, are all of the categories in line with one another, or does there appear to be a hierarchy there? I know you said that there is no Parent Category selected, I’m just wondering if the issue could be there.

Could you try to start over with the categories and see if you still have the issue?

Hi Jaime. I think they are in a line. Check out a page to see:
    https://bdpnnetwork.org/event/sports-basement-preparedness-presentation/

This event should really have only been a “community activity”. But without the “BDPNN meeting” category, it would not appear in the events calendar.

    Thanks for helping.
    Mark.

    Hi @markolympic,

If you go to Events < Event Categories, you should be able to see the hierarchy of categories. For example, a “child” category will have a line next to it, like this:

    What do you see there?
