    Hi John,

I′ve just installed the Breadcrumb NavXT and noticed that not all existing options are available to me in the settings (Blog und Homepage Breadcrumb). I can′t click on them.

That′s why I can only see the homepage and the actual opened page – but not the whole breadcrumb path. What could be wrong?

Could you please help me with that?

    Thanks in advance.

    Juli

The Blog and Mainsite Breadcrumbs are not available on all WordPress configurations, and thus are disabled/grayed out if they are not applicable for your WordPress install.

The Blog Breadcrumb is only applicable (and available) if you have a static front page (e.g. a front page and a posts page set in the General > Reading settings page).

The Mainsite Breadcrumb is only applicable (and available) if you have a WordPress Multisite/Network setup.

Neither of these are the reason for the issue you are experiencing with the breadcrumb trail not showing the “whole path”.

As for your actual issue, do you have examples where the breadcrumbs are not as you expect (the produced breadcrumb trail vs the expected breadcrumb trail)?

    Hi John,

    Thanks for your prompt respond.
My menu bar is really complicated. It has main menu items and lots of dropdowns that in their turn have “sub-dropdowns”.
That′s why breadcrumbs are so important for my website.

Unfortunately I can only see the homepage and the actual opened page – but not the whole breadcrumb path with the pages in-between.
What could be the reason for that?

My website is under construction und has an additional security code. That′s why I can′t post my URL here.

    Best regards,
    Juli

If you are expecting your WordPress menu’s structure to be reflected in the breadcrumb trail, you either have to organize your content to reflect that (setup taxonomy membership for posts, add parents to pages). Or, you can try the Breadcrumb NavXT Menu Magic extension plugin, and set the menu for it to follow to be your site’s menu.
