Not allowed to add variable parent product to manual order

    Hello,

    is there a good reason why is not allowed anymore to add a variable parent product to an order when creating this order manually? In the past it was possible.

    I think it was usefull when for example the store owner has to create a manual order and to insert data about a customized version of the products. These customized products should not affect the stock of the “standard version” of the products.

    Any suggestion? Thanks.

    Hey there!

    It was never the intention to allow a variable product without variation data to be added to an order. If you are wanting to add a customized version of a product, I would recommend making a simple product that’s hidden from the shop, and using that.
