    When I check my AMP site in https://amp.dev/page-experience/ I get the following message: This URL is not an AMP page. Sorry, this tool is designed for AMP pages only. Please use tools like PageSpeed Insights for non AMP pages. How is that possible? Support UUID: ampwp-6979b33e-fda1-5028-843f-cad38867d33f Thanks.

  • Hi @richard1250,

    Thanks for contacting us, you are using GeneratedPress with AMP, and I saw that you have a few validation issues. They are probably caused by the w3 total cache if you enable features to optimize with Javascript.

    If you use AMP as standard mode, you don’t need to enable CSS and JavaScript compression because the AMP plugin already does that.

    Hi Fellyph

    I just switched to standard mode and I disabled minifying of CSS and JS in W3 Total Cache. Now Google says “URL is not available to Google It cannot be tested. Learn more”. Things are becoming more and more mysterious.

    Hello @richard1250

    Please confirm that the AMP extension for W3 Total Cache is enabled by visiting.

    Performance -> Extensions -> Activate AMP extension. (screenshot)

    Once you have enabled the extension please visit AMP validator and make sure that it passes AMP validation.

    Hi Milind

    Did everything as you said plus cleared all caches: – many warnings in validator and Google again says Not an AMP page.

    Changed sandboxing from loose to moderate and now it passes the validation test. But now Google says again URL is not available to Google

    @richard1250

    Thank you for getting back, In case you want strict AMP pages, you can turn off Sandboxing Mode or Switch to Strict Mode.

    Use Sandboxing Mode only when you are looking for Better Page Experience and don’t care about AMP pages.

    When you switch to Standard Mode, it will not add the extra ?amp parameter means you can access your site directly with Full AMP.

    AMP in Transition or Reader Mode: https://richarddetering.com/?amp
    AMP In Standard mode: https://richarddetering.com/

    So in case you are looking for ?amp version in GSC it is not available anymore

    It may take some time for GSC to list new AMP pages, it will need a revisit from Google bots which may take (1-2 weeks)

    I now switched sandboxing off – cleared the cache again – am still in standard mode – and the Google AMP tester https://search.google.com/test/amp still says the same: URL not available. I have no idea why. https://validator.amp.dev/ is still ok: passes the test.

    Please check crawling details on AMP test. screenshot

    The page needs re-indexing in GSC (screenshot)

    All my pages are fully indexed in GSC without any exception and also including the last one from which G keeps on saying that its URL is not available. A complete mystery.

    So /how-to-cancel-web-hosting-on-godaddy/ was just tested in G AMP tester and URL is not available. Just now checked in GSC and the page is indexed.

    Let me take another page as an example: /how-to-make-a-vps-server-at-home/ Is indexed in GSC and G even says that the AMP page is valid and indexed as an AMP page in the search results. Now I put the same page in the AMP test and G says that URL is not available!!!

    @richard1250

    hmm, that’s strange I am not sure what went wrong with the AMP test OR GSC, it will be best to contact GSC support as I can verify that AMP pages are valid using the AMP validator
