Not an AMP page

Is the plugin not active now? If active then this URL should show the AMP version of a blog post: https://georgiamountaininn.com/blog/2018/07/24/dahlonega-trailfest-2018/?amp

Note that the homepage will not be served as AMP by default. Is that what you were trying?

The plug in is installed and active on https://georgiamountaininn.com. This site is a web site with static pages. this is where I want the amp compliance. And yes I would like the amp to be set to the homepage of this site.

The blog https://georgiamountaininn.com/blog was a separate blog site created several years ago and was moved from WordPress.com to org and placed in a sub directory “blog” on my cpanel. It has it’s own dashboard and plug ins.

Thanks. I am not technically inclined but happy with the current versions of both- would just like to get the amp. The other option shown in plug ins seems to work when I installed it on the main web site and blog but would prefer yours.

I just noticed that you are correct that the homepage is not served amp by default. I just checked https://georgiamountaininn.com/breakfast/?amp and it works. Also notice there is not any menu to get to other pages? Would the Yoast glue plug in help provide that? Also how can I set the home page for amp default?

If you want to re-use your active theme’s template and styles, you’ll need to update to 1.0-beta2 and use the new Paired or Native template modes that are available from the AMP options admin screen.

I recommend starting with the Paired mode and enabling the “Automatically accept sanitization for any AMP validation error that is encountered”?checkbox that appears there.

You’re using the Twenty Seventeen theme and this is already confirmed to be compatible with the new mode. For example, you can see that my own blog in the new paired mode and it is running the Twenty Seventeen theme and it is available in AMP on the homepage: https://weston.ruter.net/?amp (compare with non-AMP version).

Where to you go to get to the page where I can click the box your suggested? I have been to theme amp and it lets me change the box color from blue to ….., I went to a page edit and it showed enabled under amp. The amp section in the left margin of the dash shows very little. Thanks

You have to upgrade to 1.0-beta2. You’ll have to first uninstall AMP from your site and then download the amp.zip file from https://github.com/Automattic/amp-wp/releases/tag/1.0-beta2 and then install and activate it. Once you’ve done that, you can go to AMP in the admin to change the mode.
