    I don’t know! If you gave it a shot and it doesn’t work… then it’s not compatible.

    Unfortunately, WordPress relies heavily on images being uploaded to the media library. There’s plenty of stuff WordPress can do w.r.t. images, such as, for instance, generating thumbnails by scaling and cropping them. None of those things can be done with external featured images… so, yeah, we’re quite limited here, I’m sorry ??
