• I think what you guys are doing is great and I wish I could use this version of AMP for my website.

But I cannot because it conflicts with SG Optimizer, Siteground’s optimizing tools plugin.

When I install your version of AMP, my pagespeed drops to 28 (mobile) and lists all the optimizations I have made with SG Optimizer as if I had not made those optimizations.

When I disable your plugin, all my optimizations come back to normal.

Alas, I am having an issue with the official AMP plugin, which is why I tried yours. I hope that you can get this problem on your radar and fix it. Thank you!

We have Compatibility with SG Optimizer. Can you please share your website URL? And also share some screenshots of what error you have on your website.

Actually, after trying several solutions, I believe that SG Optimizer is not compatible with AMP!

Once I disabled SG Optimizer, I tested AMP and it was valid.

So I think it is not an issue with your plugin, it is an issue with SG Optimizer and AMP.

I will follow up with SiteGround to see what they have to say.

Hristo from SiteGround…leading the SGO dev team. What exactly do you mean that SG Optimizer is not compatible with AMP? Which optimization option? Caching? Frontend optimizations or what?

Can you provide me with an URL to look at please?

https://www.maximumoffgrid.com and it affects the entire site.

Basically, when I have SG Optimizer activated, my website fails AMP test (https://search.google.com/test/amp). It also fails on my Google Search Console.

When I deactivate SG Optimizer, it passes AMP test.

I went one by one deactivating plugins and found that SG Optimizer is the issue.

    The error I was getting:

Only amp-boilerplate and amp-custom ‘style’ tags are allowed, and only in the document head.

I have not started fiddling with SG options yet, I imagine it would be due to a front-end conflict.

For now, I have it disabled.

Sounds good. I love SG Optimizer and am sad that I have to disable it for AMP. I hope that you find a solution and if you need anything from me let me know!

You are using 2 plugins for amp, one is actually the one we’re writing in but the active one is the other. Nevertheless, we noticed what’s causing the problem and added it to a maintenance plugin update. The new version will be available tomorrow. Update the SG Optimizer and it should work just fine.
