I had a problem with this 7 months ago and where Buffer wasn’t working to twitter for me. You all fixed it for me. But, then a while later somehow twitter isn’t one of the accounts so it stopped posting to twitter quite a while back and I am now just trying to get it working again and there is no way for me to disconnect the other social medias and ad my twitter.

My WP to Buffer is set up correctly but the HypeSocial is not hooked up to twitter.

  • Hi Hicks121,

I am not sure that I quite understand the issue here, sorry, but I will try to help you out the best I can.

Would you be so kind to please tell me is our plugin connected to Buffer App (you can check this by clicking on the accounts tab in our plugin settings and if any of your accounts are showing there-then it is)? Is your Twitter connected with the Buffer App (is it showing on the left side where all of your accounts are listed)?

If the answer on both my questions is yes, can you please tell me how many accounts you have already connected with your WP site and Buffer App (again go to the accounts tab and let me know) & if any of them is Twitter?

If the answer for any or both of my questions is no, then please let me know which one is a no.

Thank you for your patience and understanding and I am looking forward to hearing back from you.

    Cheers,

    Tina

Yes I am connected to the Buffer App.

Yes Twitter is connected to my Buffer App.

I have two accounts connected (my facebook page and my G+) neither of which are actually connected to my Buffer Account. But, I see no way to change this. The dd part is that this plugin was connected to Twitter but stopped working a couple of months back and I have no idea what caused the change.

    Hey Rondall,

I have found the emails we have exchanged 7 months ago when you first installed our plugin. The problem then was that your Buffer App Access Token was not working so our plugin was not connected to the Buffer App (“Buffer has not returned an expected result. Please check your Token.”), so we have created a new token, copied it to our plugin accounts tab & that way we have connected our plugin with your accounts at Buffer App.

Based on your answers now it looks like you are experiencing the same problem. If that is the case just go to the Buffer App, create new token and copy it to our plugin accounts tab (you can actually just click on the link below the slot for the token and it will explain you how to do this – see our 1st screenshot, https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/buffer-my-post/screenshots/).

If I am wrong and this doesn’t solve your issue, please send us login information for your WordPress website & for Buffer App (username & password) to support at hypestudio.org & we will check where is the issue & resolve it for you.

    Hope this helps.

That may well be the problem. Though, it does make me wonder why I keep having to fix this.

With the instructions you gave I see how to create the original API but I am not seeing how to create a new API. Am I just missing it?

    Hi Rondall,

The process for creating new API is the same as in creating the original API. Go to the https://buffer.com/developers/apps/create and fill in the fields. Provide a name and description for your app, for e.g. your website title and description. For the “Call Back URL” use the “Native Apps” information below the box which is ‘urn:ietf:wg:oauth:2.0:oob (copy and paste). After filling all the required fields, press the create application button. Buffer will now send you an email with a link to access your token. Clicking on that link will take you back to Buffer’s website where you can see your Client ID and Access token. Copy the Access Token and paste it into our plugin settings page.

    Hope this helps.

Okay. That seemed to work. Thanks!

Is there a reason that I am having to redo this every few months? I changed nothing in the app. It just stopped working.
