Since september the second de wp_postview doesn’t count up anymore.
There are a view posts that have one (1) vieuw, but I’m 100% certain that there are more people watching it.
I’ve checked the archives and made sure that I have wp_head() inside the header brackets in the header file. I also have wp_foot() in my footer file.
Anybody any idea of what the problem can be?

check your Views options, WP-Admin -> Settings -> PostViews

It counts views from everybody, is excluding bot views and the display options are all set to “Display to everyone”.

are you using any caching plugins? Also please rad through https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/plugin-doesnt-count?replies=26 as well

I’m not using any cache plugins.
The topic you suggested I already read. That’s where I got the wp_head and wp_foot idea.

    Any other suggestions?

Does it work on the default theme? What is your site URL?

    Lester Chan,

After some more testing, I think that the plugin only counts views from users (me and my colleagues) and not visiters.

The URL of the site is: Loodzwaar.com.

You ARE using caching plugin and hence the views will not be up to date because the pages are cache. The views are still counted and stored but on the display site it will only display when your cache expires.

    Lester Chan,

A while back we were using the “W3 Total Cache” plugin, but we havent for some time now.
So we have really no idea what caching plugin you are talking about…

    Plugin Author Lester Chan

    (@gamerz)

Did you set WP_CACHE to false when you remove W3 Total Cache?

The reason why I said you are using a caching plugin is because WP_CACHE is set to true and hence on your page postviews is loading the javascript file.

If you are sure you are not using a caching plugin, that means previously you did not removed it cleanly.

On an unrelated note, it seems your site has a problem with handling ajax request. Might not affect PostViews only but other front end plugin that uses AJAX

For some reasons https://www.loodzwaar.com/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php is not accessible. That URL should give me a page with a number 0 and not the whole page back.

I am guessing some sort of permission issue or plugin conflict there you are having.

    Lester Chan,

Same problem for me. I have tried header, footer, deactivating cache, count from everyone but still I get 0 views on posts. Website: mychinesebooks.com
    Thanks for your help

@mychinesebooks.com. Are you using any caching plugin? I saw some views on some posts https://mychinesebooks.com/frbi-feiyu-crivain-chinois-au-pays-des-aveugles/?lang=en ?

    Lester Chan,

I’ve re-activated an then de-activated the cache plugin and for a very short period of time, a instruction window is shown. There are a view things that have to be done manually.
After I’ve done those things the pluging works perfectly again.

Thank you verry much for your help!

    @patrick_o: awesome, cheers dude!

@lester Chan. I’m not using any caching plugin. There are views on the posts but the views number does not increment with new visits.
    Any ideas?

@mychinesebooks.com: for your case I am not too sure, I am guessing very likely it is plugin conflict. Does it work on the default theme with no other plugins activated? Are you using only postviews? Because sometimes there is a plugin conflict with another view count.
