    Hi,

I use your plugin to send product feed to Google Merchant, and I have created several feeds, updated them, changed configs, etc without a problem.

Now I want to create a feed for Pinterest, and I see this option in the drop down, but when I select it, it instantly changes to Google shopping automatically, and I changed it back manually, but then the “Save and Continue” button does not work, so I am just stuck on that page.

Out of curiosity, I tried choosing other channels from the drop down, but with all of them (except Google Shopping) I face the same issue as described for Pinterest.

Please help me understand what’s wrong with my plugin and thanks in advance.

  • Hi,

Thanks for using our plugin and reaching out to us.

It is important to know that both Facebook and Pinterest are using the Google Shopping template and feed requirements. So if those are the channels you tested than it makes sense that the feed output looks like the Google Shopping one as that is how it is supposed to be.

    Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

So, if I understand it correctly I can create a feed choosing the channel as Google Shopping, and then provide that XML file to Pinterest for example and they will be able to read it? Is that why the plugin is not creating a new feed with any other channel from the drop down?

    Thanks in advance

No that should not be the reason, you should be able to use any channel and then the output should be according to that channel requirements. Pinterest is using Google’s feed requirements so the outcome of a feed generated for Pinterest should indeed be the same as one you created for Google Shopping so yes Pinterest should be able to read it.

    Hi,

I actually found out what was causing the issue, I was choosing the country from the drop down and selecting Netherlands, that’s why the Pinterest feed was not being created, when I tested leaving the country blank, it actually created a Pinterest feed for me.

and I also found out, there is a slight difference between Google and Pinterest product feed reqs, the plugin creates the price as the following for Google ( EUR 25,99) and for Pinterest it should be a number so no comma (EUR 25.99). And this is what the difference is between choosing GOogle shopping as a channel and Pinterest as a channel.

    Have a good day ??
