For a couple of months I used WPML and Simply Static together without any trouble. Yesterday I set WPML to a different URL format: every language now has its own folder in the URL, like /en/ and /nl/. A problem arose, being that the root page (without a language specific folder in the URL) has no language set. I fixed this by redirecting the root page domain.com to domain.com/nl/ and everything seemed to be working perfectly fine. However, when I tried to generate static HTML, Simply Static got stuck when fetching files immediately. This probably has to do with the redirection on the root page, but I don’t have a clue how to solve this. What options to try are there? Is there something in the settings of Simply Static to prevent this?

  • Hi montequarion,

One thing you could try is adding domain.com/nl/ to the Additional URLs section. You’ll still get that redirect on domain.com (because it is indeed redirecting), but by adding domain.com/nl/ Simply Static should be able to find other URLs to process.

Let me know if that works.

    Best,
    Scott
