Not finding S3 bucket

I am getting the following error at the end of the backup (everything else appears to work fine):
[14-Oct-2017 09:47:40] ERROR: S3 Bucket "{bucketname}" does not exist! [14-Oct-2017 09:47:40] ERROR: Job has ended with errors in 659 seconds. You must resolve the errors for correct execution.
However, the bucket I selected was in the dropdown in the BackWPup dashboard after I entered in the S3 details (it was the only one), so obviously the plugin recognized it originally, and it’s still showing there when I look in the settings. Why would it say it’s not there when it auto-configured the setting itself? The region is US East (Ohio) in case that matters, thanks.
