• Too few options compared to other extensions of the same type.
Erroneous calculation methods unsuitable for basic use (flat fees).
I will not recommend it as it is.

For others reading this review: our plugin is quite feature rich but this user expecs many features for free (in this case it’s about pricing features). Even though we want to, unfortunately that’s not something we can offer.

I can understand you don’t have a budget to spend on a plugin, but it’s sad that you deem our work 2 stars simply because you want all features for free.

    What arrogance.
You jump to conclusions: I would have been ready to buy it if he calculated correctly…
I said what I had to say.

As I explained, the calculation is actually correct as it is a non-quantity based flat fee. So $1 with a quantity of 2 becomes $0.50 because 0.50 * 2 = $1.

I understand you wanted other pricing options and it is frustrating, but I think it’s quite unfair to rate our plugin 2 stars when our free version clearly states the pricing option available is non-quantity based.

You have no idea what bad ratings do to us. I would be more than happy to accept a bad rating when it is about a bug, but that is not the case here because it’s not a bug.

I don’t need your plugin to have more options since many others offer it.

During a review, you are in comparison with others and, objectively, the features offered in your free version are less provided than many. Is it forbidden to say it?

You should sometimes question the answers you give on the repo: I have the impression that you are not accessible to criticism.

How do you justify it? :

    5. Choose your toppings:
    Onion (+ $ 1.50), Black Olives (+ $ 1.50), Mushrooms (+ $ 1.50)

    becomes

    5. Choose your toppings:
    Onion (+ $ 1.00), Black Olives (+ $ 1.00), Mushrooms (+ $ 1.00)

As explained here in support https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/wrong-calculations-2/.

But that’s what I’m saying. The feature you need is not in our free version, but that doesn’t mean our plugin isn’t feature-rich. We have many features that competitors don’t have (field types or variable product for example). You just don’t need them so it seems small in features. My criticism was that I don’t think it’s fair to judge a plugin by the lack of a feature.

Anyway, we both had our say, let’s leave it at that :-). All good!

Really, I would like to understand your point of view: in the example above, if I apply the rule you describe here, shouldn’t the toppings be for 2 products at $0.75, because $0.75 * 2 = $1.50?

As I explained, the calculation is actually correct as it is a non-quantity based flat fee. So $1 with a quantity of 2 becomes $0.50 because 0.50 * 2 = $1.

If the quantity is not 3, that seems odd indeed. If you still want us to take a look at that, please add a link to your site to your original support request and we’ll take a look.

If you have moved on, I understand!

I did, but you can try with your demo site:

I see you changed the price of the toppings from $1.50 to $1.00 there…
I guess you must have noticed the error with $1.50.
If our exchange could help you fix it, so much the better.

    All fixed :).
