not found.

  • i purchased a domain (thedamnlife.com) and a web host at 1and1.com. after a few days i cancelled the web host, but kept my domain. Then i purchased a web host at machighway.com and when i did, i had an option of registering a new domain, transfering a domain (thedamnlife.com) or i will just update my nameservers on my existing domain. Well choose to update my nameservers on my existing domain. after that i didnt really know what to do with updating the nameservers because my other host was already cancelled. so then i purchased to transfer my domain to machighway.

    i have a wordpress at wordpress.com. i wanted to use my domain so then i bought some credits then pointed my blog to thedamnlife.com. after that when i visited thedamnlife.com…it said error 404, but when i go back to default, it works. so then i deleted that blog and made a new one (thedamnlife.wordpress.com)

    on my webhost (machighway.com) i used fantastico to install wordpress. i followed exactly whats needed. then when i go to thedamnlife.com/wp-admin. it doesnt even work. it says not found.

    i just want a wordpress blog under my own domain.

    i need help. is there something im doing wrong?

  • you have deleted your wordpress.com blog.

    there is no reason for you to point anything from wordpress.com to the new domain.

    You need to change the nameservers. right now, they point to wordpress.com:

    Your new host can tell you where you need to point the nameservers. After that, anbd only after that, will your domain stop pointing to where it’s going right now.

    i just want to install wordpress with fantastico, but when i do it gives me a link (thedamnlife.com/wp-admin) and when i click on it its suppose to link me to wordpress where i have to log in, but its not showing up. its giving me a page not found.

    youre not reading what I am telling you.

    Your nameservers are NOT pointing to your web host.

    Until they do, youre going to have trouble.

    Fix your nameservers, then worry about the other.

    sorry, how do i fix my namesevers? when i first changed the DNS it was with 1and1.com now since i dont have it no more, where can i change it? im on machighway now.

    you change your nameservers with the registrar – whoever you bought the domain through.

    i logged on 1and1.com since thats where i bought it from, but i cant edit the domain no more like the DNS. when i log in im just on my account page with billing, user data, etc. so i dont know how i would change the nameserver
