“Not Found” after my domain moved

    I recently had my domains moved to a different server — same host, just a different server. When I went to access my dashboard for meandmydrum.com via bookmark, I get this message:

    “Not Found
    The requested URL /wp-admin/ was not found on this server.”

    I logged into my control panel to see if the host name had changed, but it hadn’t.

    I currently have the plugin “Maintenance Mode” activated, which enables me to see the blog’s home page, but have other’s see another page asking visitors to return after a while…at least that’s the way it’s supposed to work because now when I access it in IE (I was using Firefox earlier) I get instead a Web Utilities/Web Shell page.

    I can also logon to the server via ftp and can confirm that my files are there.

    And to add to the mystery, this is just one of two domains that moved. familywebwatch.com/blog works fine, with access to everything.

    Any ideas on why this could be happening?

    Well, if I could get to the admin panel I would, but no matter what file I try to access in my browser, it says “Not found”.

    Is there another way to do that?

    What happens when you try through wp-login.php?
    Same error message?

    Correct, same message.

    It almost has to be a plugin jacking with you. I would say a corrupted file but you didn’t upload anything.
    Sort of a hassle but try saving your plugins to your hard drive (should already have them there) and delete them from the plugin folder and try logging in. If you get in, install and activate plugins one by one.

    Thanks for sticking with me, but alas, deleting my plugins didn’t affect anything. ??

    If I could get my host to respond, they might be able to shed some light, but they’ve closed their instant message support.

    So do I have any other options before considering a reinstall?

    If you have phpmyadmin access, grab a dump of your database, open the file locally after you’ve saved it to your hdd, and see if it looks like all your stuff is there. If so, then delete all the files (EXCEPT your wp-config and any custom theme files in wp-content/themes) and reupload all the files from a freshly downloaded distro of wp.

    If I were you, here’s what I would REALLY do: obtain hosting elsewhere; then get a db dump from the current host (see above – and make sure the data’s actually THERE!); install wp on the new host, import the db dump, then see where you’re at.

    The stuff you’ve posted about your host doesn’t give me warm fuzzies….

    I wish I could take the credit, but when I checked my blog again this evening, what was once not accessible now is. I guess something hadn’t been updated when I host moved the files or something, but now it’s working fine.

    I had a similar issue using the themed-logreg plugin with WP 2.3.1. After reading this thread, I removed it, and was able to log back in. Weird thing is that it *was* working for quite awhile, then just stopped working….
