Not getting transation data

I saw on the FAQ that “If a user completes the transaction via a 3rd party payment gateway and is not redirected back to your store’s thank you page, our plugin will not be able to send the transaction data.”
We’re using ANZ eGate for the payments but the users input their card details on the checkout page, not in an external page. So after checkout, they get redirected to thank you page at once. However, we’re not getting any transaction data on the thank you page. Only the item data on cart and checkout page.
Any ideas? Thank you
