• I tried installing the plugin by downloading it from this website, uploading, activating and also from the direct method from inside WordPress. Both failed. The plugin did not work for me.

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home/pilogicc/public_html/fem/site1/wp-content/plugins/widget-settings-importexport/widget-data.php on line 49

It is unfortunate that you would give a one star review instead of going through the support forum where you would find that the plugin now requires PHP 5.3. If you have a lower version use version 1.0.

You can usually get upgraded to PHP 5.3 if you ask your host.

I’ve since uploaded a new version that will not even allow you to activate the plugin if your PHP version is less than 5.3.
