Our startup’s website doesn’t have sitelinks even after being online for 2 years.

At the beginning we had just an html landing page, with anchor links. That variant had sitelinks (what actually surprised me).
Almost two years ago we switched to WordPress and YOAST and since then we do not have sitelinks. I first thought that it was just a temporary issue and that they will return, but nothing changes through time.

We have good original content on the website related to our product. We have a decent amount of good backlinks. There is no reason not to have sitelinks and there are no manual actions taken on it in the search console.

It feels to me that there is some technical issue that causes it, I just can’t figure out what it could be.

Couple of things that I noticed when I try to search “convoworks”:

1. As the domain name is convoworks.com, Google asks: did you mean “convo works”. I had several projects before which had similar domain names to usual phrases, and it usually took just a couple of months for Google to stop suggesting the phrase.

2. Bing – doesn’t even return the main domain in the results. It was there before, but not anymore.

3. Yep – Returns our GitHub repository on the first place, convoworks.com is on the second place, with sitelinks.

It is a really strange situation and I would appreciate any help with it.

Thanks for reaching out to us regarding the Sitelinks. Kindly note that the Google and other search engines selects the site links based on your site structure. Yoast SEO automatically adds all the necessary Schema needed to generate Sitelinks. So you won’t need to change anything from the plugin.

You could signal to Google which links you want to appear by using the following actions:
- Provide a clear structure for your website, using relevant internal links and anchor text that’s informative, compact, and avoids repetition. These guides explain more: Blog SEO: add and maintain categories on your blog and?Clean the Site Structure
- Allow Google to crawl and index important pages within your site. Use Inspect any URL to check that they render correctly.
- Consider using noindex to remove pages you do not want to be shown in search results. This guide explains more: How Do I Noindex URLs?
- Be sure to resubmit your sitemap to Google, as it will encourage them to crawl your site and update the search index. This guide explains more: Submit Sitemap to Google
- You may also wish to contact Google for more information on how they decide which links appear by making a post on their forums.
