    Well, shoot! I’m defintely bummed to see a negative review like this, but I totally understand and would feel mildly disappointed myself if I expected something and was unable to find it.

    Just to be clear: shortcodes are not included in The Events Calendar. We do have a number of shortcodes available — such as embedded full calendar views, widgets and individual events — but they require Events Calendar Pro, our premium add-on.

    With Events Calendar Pro you can display the next upcoming event anywhere with this shortcode:

    [tribe_events_list limit="1"]

    Did you see shortcodes advertised as part of The Events Calendar somewhere? If so, we’d appreciate knowing where you saw it so we can clear up any confusion and prevent other folks from experiencing the same disappointment.
