Plugin was working like a charm until today. I have several roles established on my website. Only Admin has full access to the dashboard. Authors have limited access: Add Events, Add Post, Add media, Edit their Profile. However, now, even after deactivating certain functions for the authors, they still appear on the authors dashboard menu: FAQ, Job offers, Members, Partners, Portfolio, Price Tables, etc. etc. These were not previously visible. And every time I deactivate these functions, update the changes, and return to the page, they have all cleared out.

    Please help. Thanks!

  • The only problem is, that version 1.9.x hides the wrong menu items (not the ones i’ve selected in adminimize)

Me, having the Admin user role, has full controll over everything,
The client, user role Editor or Author, is not allowed to change everything, but may only control the items i want to give them control over.

Your plugin makes it possible to hide certain items in the menu for specific user roles,
Just as your plugin is intended for.
Your plugin makes it possible to make only those items visible for my clients which i want them to see in the menu and admin bar.

Since your last plugin update, i’ve lost controll over hiding the correct items.

Example: i select “posts” to be hidden from the menu,
But only the “seperator” is hidden, and “posts” remains visible,

I want to hide “custom post type 1” and “custom post type 3”
but your plugin hides “custom post type 2” and “custom post type 4”
This is obviously not correct (this is only an example!)

This problem ONLY exists when i have the plugin all-in-one-Seo-pack activated.
This is a plugin that is only visible for the Admin user role on the firs position in the menu, right after the “dashboard” button and is hidden for other user roles by default.
That’s why i think there is an error with the id’s [0]

With Adminimize 1.8.5 i have no such problems.

When i do NOT install the all-in-one-seo-pack plugin,

    Adminimize works perfect without error.

Please take a look at the next screenshot,
    https://postimg.org/image/4lqorh9sf/full/

Both results are different from eachother, while using the exact same settings. i hope this clarifies the difference between 1.8.5 and 1.9.3-RC1

I don’t have the all-in-one-seo pack, but I still have issues with the plugin. I will see which plugin it conflicts with on my test site.

Thanks a lot. It is confused, that it always works in my tests locally.
I have active a lot of plugins, themes and it works.

The screenshot is clear, very helpful. Can you add this again with the settings from 1.9* version of Adminimize. The key on the item is important for me.

    I check it again.

I think I have found the problem.

The key of each item was count new in each role. If the user have not the capability for this item, it get a other key.

Now I have switch to the slug, a defined value. The tests works well. Please test also – thx!
    Same download url – https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/adminimize.zip

    Sounds promising!

I’ll test tomorrow when im back at the office again and let you know!

I too was having problems after updating today with the wrong menu items being hidden or not hidden. I downloaded your fix and it is working perfectly now. Thanks!

Good news: the plugin seems to be working perfect again!

A very very very big applause for you Frank.

Thank you soooooooo much for all your work and have a nice day!

    Good News!

I think, now I have solid status. Can you retest, focus on Menu, Submenu and Admin Bar?
    Same download url.

Thanks a lot for the helping.

I have tested it, and I’m thrilled to say that the following works well on the site and hides all that I set it to hide:
    Admin Bar Backend Options
    Global Options
    Dashboard Options
    Menu Options
    Etc.

    Not working properly (I think):

Admin Bar Frontend Options (I’m assuming) is not hiding: Page Builder, Theme Options, or Comments. So when the Author is on their dashboard, these are hidden (perfect), but when they are on the site, they appear.

I have Modern Tribe set up for Events and it’s not allowing me to disable certain options. Not a big deal though. I can work with the plugin in as it is.

My only concern is hiding those options named above from the Admin Bar Frontend Options.

    Thank you so much!

    Thanks for the reply.
I understand, that you have items in the admin bar, there you can’t hide for roles. But the Menu/Submenu items works fine?

Are the items in the list, on the Adminimize settings page?
The settings for back-end and front-end are different, have you check this also? have also different items in each area on the settings page?
Maybe a screenshot for the completely settings page and the result would be fine.

My apologies. When I logged back in as Author, it was working just fine. The Admin Bar Frontend Options are working as it should. (I suppose my page did not refresh.)

The Menu and Submenu works just fine. Just as they should.

    Everything looks good!

Again, thank you so much for working so quickly on this.

    Great.
No apologies, I’m thank you for all testers. I have add a thread weeks before for testing, less feedback and now, after update I have testers, much easier.

    Hi!

I have a related issue like mentioned in the forum. Since I updated to 1.9.2, I am unable to show “Huge IT Slider” from the Dashboard for my Editor user. I have the items unchecked in Adminimize settings, tried Update Options, and it still hides it. Any ideas?
