Not importing all posts from Joomla

Hi,
I’m trying to import a large database (about 10000 posts) from a joomla site to another, but the process after a little time goes in timeout, although it goes forward in background, but it stops when it has imported about 1000 posts. If i try to restart the import many times, it imports less posts that before, until it doesn’t import any new post.
The strange thing is that few months ago, I’ve imported the same database on another wordpress site.
