    Hi,

I have the issue that, set to disable automated plugin, easy update (and wordpress too) says that plugin are always updates and also in the wordpress plugin page is not indicated in any plugin that an update is available.

I have noticed when I have been forced to deactivate all plugin via server and, when reactivated, many of them showed the availability of an update.

So, at the moment, wih easy update installed there is no way to know if there are some plugin to update.

How could I fis this issue?

    Many thanks,

    Giuseppe

  • Hi Giuseppe,

Could you please provide us with the settings you have set on EUM, especially for the Plugin updates setting?, is it the Disable auto updates or Disable plugin updates setting you are referring to? Or perhaps you could just provide us with the steps to reproduce the issue?

I’m not sure if I fully understand the issue you are facing right now. You said you deactivated and reactivated plugins through a server, does that mean you’re on a managed WordPress hosting?

    Thanks

    Hi,

    thanks for your support but

I had plugin updates disabled and individual plugin not allowed and, after a deactivation of all the plugins via server for other reason, when reactivated I discovered that there were many plugins to update. So with that settings updates are not visible, and I have changed.

And then changing moving updates all the individual plugins to “Allowed” and pushing “Plugin Disable Auto Update”, so thinking to not have blocked the process to check if there are updates but not allowing the software to update automatically, I have had a new issue because of not wanted updating.

So, what are precisely the settings to NOT have automatic update but receving the alert of an update (in your dashbord or in the page plugin it’s the same)?

    I really cannot understand.

    Thank you very much,

    Giuseppe

    Hi Giuseppe,

If you don’t want to make everything in your WordPress site automatically update but you want to be alerted of an update, then under the Quick configuration setting you could select the Disable auto updates, this way you will no longer get your WP core, plugins, themes and translations automatically updated when there’s an available update

If you want to individually configure automatic updates for plugins and/or themes, you will need to select or activate the Choose per plugin and/or Choose per theme option first, without choosing this option, anything you set to plugins/themes via their respective tabs will not have an effect

When setting up plugins/themes individually, turning the Automatic updates option off will disable automatic updates for the selected plugins/themes, but you will still receive an alert if there’s an update.

    Thanks
    Anthon
