• For the past day I’ve been locked out intermittently and this last time it said I was locked out for 21 hours! However, I was still able to login very briefly before getting kicked out again.

I have been able to clear my lock, but I’d like to remove this and use only All In One WP Security. Which I had installed, but never activated. The problem is that when I go to my plugin listing, Limit Login Attempts is not shown! I know I can just delete or rename the folder via ftp, but I would like avoid that. How can I disable and remove this plugin properly?

  • I found this to be a problem as well.
So, I decided to just delete it via FTP.
BUT, it wasn’t listed in the plugins folder either.
It turns out that my managed WordPress hosting provider has it installed as a default plugin and it can’t be deleted.
To avoid forgotten passwords and lockouts I just use Clef lol
    Good luck!!!

Ah, I’m using managed hosting now. That could be why.

    I’m using Flywheel.

WPEngine also installs it be default.
    It’s not listed in Plugins.
