    Hi,

we’ve a problem with this plugin.

If the customer wants to buy a subscription product and is not logged in, then PayPal will not be displayed as a payment option.
If the customer is logged in with his account, then PayPal is displayed.

For the other products, PayPal is always displayed.

Plugins, theme and WordPress are up to date.
On our staging we’ve disabled all plugins, except WooCommerce, WooCommerce PayPal Payments and WooCommerce Subscriptions. We switched the theme to twentytwentyone … The problem still exists.

    How can we fix this?

    Hi @schweizersolutions,

With the latest plugin versions after version 1.6.1, the guest checkout option was temporarily disabled as there was a bug that could prevent subscription renewals from working when a guest created the subscription.
We understand this is not the desired behavior, but from version 1.6.2 until the upcoming version 1.6.4, only logged-in users can buy subscription products as a temporary measure to prevent eventual problems with renewal payments.

Our recommendation, for now, would be to have users create an account before visiting the checkout. But there will be another update in January that re-enables guests to buy subscription products again. Using version 1.6.1 would be a way to restore the guest checkout for subscriptions, but our recommendation is to always use the most recent version to take advantage of the latest improvements.
Restoring guest checkouts for subscriptions is our top priority for the next version.

    Kind regards,
    Niklas

    Hi,

    I have a similar problem.

WooCommerce PayPal Payments works in every simple checkout, but doesn’t work in checkout that have a recurring service create with WooCommerce Subscriptions.

Here a screenshot with the settings in Account & Privacy:

    How can I solve?

    Thank you.

    Hi @niklasinpsyde,

Any update on when exactly the new release will be ready? And can you confirm it will re-enable PayPal gateway for guests to buy subscription products again??

AND can you confirm logged-in purchases made using PayPal gateway (running version 1.6.2, I mean) will have no issues on renewals?

    Thanks!

Currently with the exact same issue. It’s not counting the plugin valid for subscriptions, only when I enable “Accept Manual Renewals”, which I should not have to do…

    Hello everyone,

Thanks for your patience. Yes, this issue will be resolved in our upcoming update. We are still working on it, but expect a pre-release version for testing to be available on the GitHub repo at the end of next week.
More information about the progress can be found on the GitHub repo.

@thomas_92 Before version 1.6.2, we did not fail the subscription order if a payment method failed to save at PayPal which could result in renewal payments not processing due to the lack of a saved payment method. For subscriptions created with version 1.6.2 and newer, we ensure that the payment method was saved and it should therefore work consistently for logged-in users.

@justinkruit This thread is about the gateway not being visible for guest users, in particular. If it does not appear even for logged-in users, then the Vaulting feature may not be enabled. The subscription integration requires the Vaulting checkbox to be set. For any questions beyond the guest subscription checkout, please create a separate thread. Thanks!

    Kind regards,
    Niklas
