Not overwriting, keeping both copies

The only checkbox I have selected in the settings is “preserve author”. When I schedule a revision it does publish, however it is a new post, it is not overwriting the old one. Instead it publishes the post with a “-2” at the end and preserves the old post. I DID notice that it says this plugin has not been tested with my current version which is WordPress 5.0.2.
