More of a feature request I suspect by why doesn’t the WooCommerce order number get passed to the online payment dashboard?

Other payment gateways I have used/am using show the WooCommerce store order number in the transaction by transaction logs. What I see in the GDP Dashboard is some random GDP generated transaction number. If I am trying to reconcile or find an order in WC and find the same in the GDP Dashboard name is the only way.

Why do you have to show me a reference number in the GDP Dashboard that I have no knowledge of? Why don’t you capture and show the WC Store order number which is something that I can actually use? Should probably include the WC {Site-Title} descriptor as well so that what is in the GDP Dashboard is {Site_Title} {Order_Number} from WC.

    Hello there @esd3104 ,

Thank you for reaching out about our plugin, GoDaddy Payments! I’m happy to assist you with this. ??

From your Godaddy Payments Dashboard you should be able to go to Transactions and then click on a Transaction ID to view its details.

On the Transaction Details page you will see that there is a section called “Source” which should be set as “WooCommerce” and “Order ID” which is set as the corresponding WooCommerce Order ID. In my example the WooCommerce Order ID was #24683

You can check that it corresponds to a WooCommerce Order if needed by searching for the order in your WooCommerce Orders page on your website.

Would you please let me know if this helps you out? Please don’t hesitate to let me know if you have any other questions!

    Best,

    Zach

Thanks for the feedback. That’s not what I see in the GDP Dashboard. When I go into the details of the transaction it says the source is “Smart Terminal”. However, this was very much a WooCommerce order. I can see the order # and all the details of the order.

I setup the plugin using the App ID and Private Key in WordPress so I am not sure what the disconnect is.

I just checked another, low volume, site I setup with GDP and I see exactly the same thing. No mention of WooCommerce and just “Smart Terminal”. Just figured I’d mention this as its not isolated to one site.

    Hey there, @esd3104,

I went through my own online test site that has GoDaddy Payments connected and I am also seeing what you see, with Smart Terminal being the Source:

    https://cloud.skyver.ge/rRug6PjK

I’m going to touch in with our team to see if there has been a change to this setting recently, and if one of our team members can confirm whether there is still a way to connect the Order Number with the Transaction details. I will get back here soon to let you know what we find out!

In the meantime, could you please let me know if you have further questions or observations on this issue?

    All the Best,
    Kari

If you drill down all the way into a payout report, you can find the WooCommerce order number. Not exactly convenient though ??

I’ve used Stripe for years so I am not used to having to dig this hard to find details when trying to reconcile what transactions and looking at a payout/payment to see which orders were included with that. If you’re doing QuickBooks or other accounting on the back end (as I am) then sometimes you need to check/reconcile the bank deposit with the card payments – possible to make an error entering a sales order in QB. So it needs to be easy to see what orders are part of which payment. Your payment report does that but it’s several clicks deep vs being easy to see in the main dashboard as other providers do.

    Hey @esd3104,

Thanks for your patience! One of our support engineers did indeed locate a bug in only certain uses of this plugin. Merchants who are using Managed WordPress (as in Zach’s example) do indeed see the Transaction Source as WooCommerce, and can view the Order Number promptly. However, merchants using the standalone plugin, or in my case using Managed WooCommerce Stores, see the Source as Smart Terminal.

Thanks to your findings, we have alerted our plugin engineers to this issue now, so hopefully soon they will supply a fix that will help make those Order Numbers show at an earlier point in the Transaction Details as expected (and as logically makes sense!) for all plugin users, as well as showing WooCommerce as the Source.

I recommend keeping an eye on the plugin changelog for when that fix gets released, since I understand this would be an important fix for you and your business. ??

Do you have any further questions I can help with at this time?
