not pinging when only editing old post

    I’m looking for a replacement plugin for Pingfix:

    With this plugin WordPress pings only when publishing new posts, not when editing. But only works for 2.1.x and previous versions, not working for 2.2.x ??

    Anyone knows a similar plugin? or how to patch WP core to disable pinging when only editing old post??
