Not placing any files on the site

    Hi,
    I have installed and everything seemed to have gone fine. My problem is that the ‘View Site’ button gives the following error.
    Not Found
    The requested URL /~gary/testSite/index.php was not found on this server.
    Apache/1.3.29 Server at gary-dykstras-computer.local Port 80
    It seems wordpress is not placing a file called index.php in the directory. I have searched the support posts yet could not find an answer to this question. Please help.

    My configuration:
    Mac os 10.2.8
    Apache 1.3.29
    PHP 4.3.0
    MySQL 3.23.54

    Ok, I guess I just did not understand how this works. I’ve answered my own question. WordPress simply puts the blogfile in the directory where wordpress was installed. Got it.
