Hi, I was trying to connect to my verified Paypal Business Account but it isn’t possible. I always get the issue the data isn’t correct. That’s not true because I can login into my account outside of Easy Digital Downloads. What could be the issue?

@topfgartenwelt If your site is in Test mode and you are trying to connect to the PayPal sandbox, you don’t use your PayPal account credentials, you need to use specific Facilitator account details which can be found at https://developer.paypal.com/developer/accounts

These sandbox accounts are specific to your account and consist of a facilitator (store owner) and buyer (customer) accounts.

I hope this helps get you started testing with PayPal.

Hi, now I get the confirmation that the sandbox account is connected to my paypal account and the webhooks are active. But a problem is the not confirmed E-Mail-Adress (I didn’t get an E-Mail to confirm) and the Gateway Status (Paypal isn’t currently active). How can I test Paypal now if it works?

    Hi @topfgartenwelt

That message usually means that you have EDD in test mode but in the PayPal connection process you used your real PayPal account and not the Sandbox ones.

Please review our article here https://easydigitaldownloads.com/docs/paypal-setup/#sandbox and once you have 2 sandbox accounts created inside PayPal Developer platform then you have to use the Business Sandbox account you just created to connect inside EDD when in Test mode.

    Ok …

I have created a Test Download. The E-Book should cost about € 10, it can only purchased when the buyer accepts that there is no refund for digital products. So it works fine. But I get the download link before I should pay something. The download should only be accessed after paying the E-Book. And I don’t see the shopping cart.

And is it possible to create a page with all downloads available – for example called E-Book Shop?

    Hi!

Can you please open a support topic with our team via this page https://easydigitaldownloads.com/support/ ?

We can then take a closer look at your setup as we would need to ask for some more information that can’t be posted here on the public forums.

Everything is working now! Thank you very much! A connection to the Paypal Sandbox was only possible after disconnecting the integrated Store Gateway.

The next issue is, I want to show the downloads in a grid. I found here a piece of code: https://easydigitaldownloads.com/docs/sample-product-grid-for-your-theme/

Can I add this code to the Code Snippets Plugin or is here some customizing necessary? Are there other ways to style the downloads page?

Glad to hear you got it sorted. To list your products you can use the EDD Products block, if you use the WordPress block editor or the [downloads] shortcode which can take several parameters: https://easydigitaldownloads.com/docs/downloads-shortcode/

Thank you very much! It works great!

The code snippet provided on your homepage produces a fatal error on my site, the shortcode works! ??

Does the E-Books have a Schema Markup? If not, how can I add it to them?

    Greetings Kathrin
