Not Publish after updating the page

    I’m a newbie. I ‘m getting a website built by a freelancer. I was given a WP admin ID and PW, I have signed in and able to see all the pages and the content of the web but when I make some small changes “Tex content” to the page it allows me to view,and update but it does not change the publish date and it does not publish the changes… what is wrong ???
