Not re-activating after upgrade to latest version

In that case I’d recommend installing 3.1.5 from plugin repository. If you still want to update to 3.1.6, make note of your settings, deinstall the plugin completely and then reinstall 3.1.6 from scratch.

How large is your site, how many posts approximately?

Okay, so I tried that. I deleted the plugin entirely and noted settings. I am attempting to install 3.1.6 from scratch and it still will not activate. This is really important I manage to get this working again.

There are 2,000+ posts on the site.

I’m on vacation now, so limited time to help… What happens when you try to active the plugin? Timeout? If you’ve properly removed the original version (so that the database tables are gone), that should not happen. Make sure that the database tables from the original version are gone before you install 3.1.6 from scratch.

If I have deleted the plugin from my plugins folder, what else do I need to do to delete it entirely from the database?

You need to remove all tables that have names beginning with wp_relevanssi…
