Not Really So Simple

  • Not really so simple. The reviews on here must be filtered because I found others online with the same issues I had. All my images were broken. I tried all their suggested fixes but you can’t get REAL help unless you buy the product.

    1. I tried to resave permalinks. Didn’t work
    2. I cleared the site cache (useing Kallyas theme). Didn’t work
    3. Couldn’t find the marker: data-rsssl=1 in my code.

    The only way I got my images back was to delete them and then pick them again from the media library and put them back. THANK GOODNESS my site is new and I didn’t have a lot of images yet. YMMV but it’s not really so simple.

    You did not request support, either on this forum or on really-simple-ssl.com. So I’m not sure why you say you can’t get real help?

    Based on what you say, you probably could have fixed it by following the instructions here:
    https://really-simple-ssl.com/knowledge-base/how-to-check-if-the-mixed-content-fixer-is-active/, especially step 4.

    The plugin is built to work easily, but in a few cases, there could be a conflict between plugins. That can be fixed by following the instructions in the above article, or you can request support. I always reply.

    As to review filtering: plugin developers can’t control review posting.

    5 star real reviews (247 and counting) cannot go wrong. ??

    Having read through the 1* Ratings I’m very impressed how the Authors always responds politely and in good detail. In most cases where things have gone wrong for users, it appears that there were directions already provided to resolve issues without disasters. As a last resort, the developer would have always helped out.

    I’m still convinced this is a viable and useful plugin, but as always, heeding the !BACKUP! instruction is essential in any global site modification.
