We aren’t receiving email notification of broken links. I’ve double checked and the website mail function is sending emails and we are receiving them.

How can we resolve this issue?

    Hello @mccawphoto

    I hope you’re well today!

    Could you please:

    – go to “Settings -> Link Checker” page in site’s back-end and check if “Send me e-mail notifications about newly detected broken links” option is enabled?
    – if yes, make also sure that you’re checking relevant e-mail inbox (including SPAM folder)
    – in “Advanced” tab – is the “Run hourly in the background” option enabled for “Link Monitor”?
    – and also are actually new broken links detected and reported on “Tools -> Broken Links” checker?

    Kind regards,
    Adam

    @wpmudev-support8 Thanks for your reply!

    I checked and:

    – The “Send me e-mail notifications about newly detected broken links” option is enabled.

    – I did check the spam folder and no messages are in there

    – The “Run hourly in the background” option enabled for “Link Monitor”

    – New broken links are being detected and reported on “Tools -> Broken Links” checker

    What should I try next?

Thanks for your help with this!

    With Gratitude,

    Hi @mccawphoto

    Thank you for response!

I think int his case it’d be good to try to get some insight into e-mails’ “internals”.

There’s a plugin that helps monitor all the e-mail messages that go out form the site:

    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/email-log/

if you install it you should be able to see if there are at least “attempts” to send those mails. Please watch that log for some time (at least as long as the “Check each link” option is set to on “Settings -> link checker -> general” page – though you might set this period to shorter to speed up things) and see if there are any traces of mails from Broken Link Checker there.

Let us know here what you’ll find.
    Best regards,
    Adam

I’ve installed the email log plugin and I see that it supposedly sent our 3 emails on February 29, one was to me. I’ve checked my spam folder but am not finding this email anywhere.

I’ve also tested the website contact form and have confirmed that email submissions are being sent and received.

Any thoughts on figuring out why these emails aren’t delivered when contact form submissions are delivered?

    Hello @mccawphoto

I hope you are doing well!

If the email history log showing that emails were sent, but you can’t find it , please set up and SMTP plugin that will ensure email delivery.

Let us know how it went!

    Kind regards,

As I stated above the contact forms on the site do send email and I’ve confirmed the emails are received. Besides that we are using MailGun for email delivery.

    How can we troubleshoot this?

    With Gratitude,
    Melinda

    Hello @mccawphoto

I hope you are doing well!

Since the emails are showing that sent in the Email Log plugin and you are using Mailgun’s SMTP service, the issue is not with the plugin.

Please check if the email used in the MailGun account is the same used in the Bricken Link Checker settings. If not, please go to the Setting > Link Checker > General and add same email. Check if you will receive an email from the plugin afterward.

    Kind regards,
    Nastia
