    Hey Guys,

After looking through the support forum this widget seems to be working “right out of the box” for most people, so I must be making some trivial mistake. So far, I’ve activated the widget, embedded it into a post on my wp site, and followed all of the other installation instructions provided. I’ve been testing to see if it does indeed work, and so far I’ve been unable to get Easy Sign Up to to send me an email regarding the name and email of the person “signing up” (me). I checked to make sure that the options page has been filled out correctly, but still no luck.

Do I need to configure the widget to communicate with gmails smtp server? Sorry I can’t post the link to my site, I haven’t even uploaded it to my domain yet because it’s still a major work in progress. I’m completely new to WordPress, and I appreciate any help I can get!

    Thanks in advance,
    Robert Menke

    FYI,

Plugin: Easy Sign Up: Version 3.1.3
    WP: 3.5.1

    Hi Robert,
The easy sign up plugin does not do anything special with regards to sending emails, it uses WordPress’s own email function: wp_mail()

    Please try:
Change the Notification Email’s address in your Easy Sign Up’s options page to a different email address – Then test the form.
    Check your spam folders.

Ok, I did try a few other emails to no avail. I think my error in all of this is that I still have wordpress running on MAMP, so I obviously don’t have a mail server set up. I’m going to transfer my files to a godaddy domain I have, and then post back on this thread to confirm whether or not the easy sign up plugin is working for me.

Thanks for getting back with me, Greenweb!

Cool thanks for the update the – that’ll be your issue. If Anyone did need to use this plug-in on a localhost that did not have access to a PHP mail function they could use a plug-in like WP mandrill That integrates WordPress with a third party SMTP Server https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wpmandrill/

Just to confirm, and allow you to close out this thread the plugin works perfectly now that I have it up on my godaddy domain. Thanks again for the help!
