Not receiving email sent through contact

  • Hi, I’m not sure this has ever been correctly set up, but I’m not getting any emails that are initiated through my contact page. It says it is verified, and the addresses in settings look correct. I just have no idea what to do or where to look.

    Here’s how I have it set up right now. Both the to and the from addresses are mine. I don’t know what is supposed to go where. It’s always been confusing to me.

    When someone sends a message, including my son doing a test, I don’t receive an email. I’m pretty sure I never have received an email through the website. Did you look at the Gyazo screen shot I showed you? Can you tell what I’m doing wrong from that?

    Do you realize there is no form of Contact Form 7 on that page?

    I honestly don’t know what to do here. I have never understood how to use this add-on.

    Okay, I understand more and made a lot of progress, but I’m still not receiving the email messages sent through the form. When I send myself a test message, I now see the expected response below the send tab. Can you tell from these screen shots what I’m missing?

    Do you get any response message after you submit the form?

    I get the correct green-bordered response like this. I also tried using only same domain as website email addresses in the mail tab in settings, saved, refreshed my Contact Us page, and tried again; still no email. I’m wondering if I need to use an SMTP add-on like WP Mail SMTP by WPForms?

    Something outside the scope of your plug-in might be going on. When I make a sale, I get an email notice both from PayPal and from WordPress. I’m not getting the ones from WP right now, either; it’s been several days I’m just realizing. If you have an idea of where to look, I’ll be happy to hear it, but I’m going to try to investigate this from another perspective, too. I’ll let you know if I learn anything as soon as I do. Thanks very much for your help so far.

    My web hosts disable PHP mail for whatever reason. The tech said he unblocked it, but I’m still not receiving email. He also suggested that I use the Check & Log Email plugin, as well as an SMTP plugin. I’m going to leave this open still, but I really think I bothered you for nothing. I’ll close it properly when I have everything working correctly. My apologies for the bother.

    See FAQ > I see a response message “Thank you for your message. It has been sent.” with green border, but I never receive a mail for that.
