Hi @robertag
I hope you’re well today!
I’m assuming that you have e-mail notification for the form already configured on in the “Email NOtificaitons” section of form settings, right?
By design and default, Forminator would use WordPress core method to send e-mails so it should be no different ot any other e-mails that you may be getting form the site. However, this may not work fine in some cases e.g. if you are trying to use different e-mail as a sender e-mail than e-mail in the domain of your site (this would be due to host-enforced restrictions).
To start with:
1. for sure those form notifications are not ending up in “spam” folder, right?
2. if they aren’t in spam – can you confirm that other e-mails from the site are coming through (like e.g. “lost password” e-mails) or not?
– if answer to above is “yes, other notifications are coming through” but the e-mail address used as “sender” address in Forminator is different than site address (and in different domain)
– or if answer to abve is “no, none are coming through”
then it would mean that there are some server side limitations and most likely your host allows only sending e-mails from the existing e-mail addresses in the same domain as your site. It would, indeed, be recommended then to configure site to use SMTP to send e-mails.
This would change the method used for e-mail delivery to more reliable and can be done with some free 3rd-party plugins such as e.g. Easy WP SMTP or Post SMTP Mailer or our own free Branda.
Kind regards,
Adam
