    Hello,

I am opening a new ticket because I am not receiving the “New Order” e-mail notifications.
Although, the customers receive the order confirmation e-mails.

I already tried several solutions I have seen on other tickets such as changing the “from” address to wordpress@[yourdomain].com or put a Gmail address. None worked.

I already checked in WooCommerce > Settings > E-mails and everything is appropriately configured.

Thank you in advance for your help! ??

  • @esmi seems like the same issue but no problem, I’ll open another, thank you

    Hey Caleb,

In an earlier reply I stated that I’m using the Postman plugin and what message I get.

In my case, the new order email is sent and received as long as there is no attachment to it. In the settings of Woocommerce PDF invoices I can select an email where the Invoice must be attached. I had selected the new order email next to the order completed email.

When selected, the email is not sent, and Postman plugin log tells me this:

5.7.0 This message was blocked because its content presents a potential 5.7.0 security issue. Please visit 5.7.0 https://support.google.com/mail/answer/6590 to review our message 5.7.0 content and attachment content guidelines. n26sm8589267wmi.3 - gsmtp

Removing the attachment from the new order email resolves it but the order completion emails are not sent. (I’m testing it with myself as a customer) They are blocked with the same log maessage in Postman.

Wouldyou please shed some light? Thank you.

Something is still being included that is causing the email to be blocked. Have you tried with a default theme and all plugins disabled (including your invoice plugin)?

    Hello,

I just tested the e-mails with the plugin “Check email” and the test was successful, the e-mail was sent and received without any problem.

    Any suggestion for my issue?

Emails send when the order status is changed to ‘processing’, ‘on-hold’ or ‘completed’. Check your orders have this status.

You can see if emails are ‘sending’ but you’re just not receiving them with https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-mail-logging/ Don’t forget to check your spam box.

If not spammed, but logged as sending, it may be a server issue. Try using a different method of email sending with https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-smtp/

You can also combine https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-smtp/ with https://www.mandrill.com/ or https://www.mailgun.com/ for improved deliverability and logging. I recommend this anyway.

    Hello Mike,

    Thank you for your reply.

I checked and changed the status but I didn’t receive any “New Order” e-mail.
The e-mails are not going to my spam folder.
The problem is not with the server, I already did some test to confirm that.

    Any other suggestion?

Use the logging plugin. if they ‘send’ but don’t arrive it’s the server, so you can use the services I linked to.

    Hi all,

I found what is causing this situation in my case. It is the WooCommerce PDF Invoice plugin by Andrew Benbow. It is updated on May 11th with this changelog:

*** WooCommerce PDF Invoice Changelog ***
    2016.05.11 – version 3.2.1
    * Fix – double .pdf extension for standard downloads.

Reverting the plugin back to a state before that (in my case from a backup of May 8th) did the trick for now. With version 3.2.0 everything works ok. Of course, I still want it fixed in the Invoice plugin. It’s a paid plugin……. sold by Woothemes!

I’ve updated the ticket on WooThemes and hoping for a quick an helpful response.

I hope this is useful for others as well.

    Best regards,

    Adri

    Hello Mike,

    Thank you for your reply.

I installed the plugin and checked the e-mail sent. The “New Order” e-mails were sent but I never receive them Although, the clients receives the confirmation e-mail.

I tried to put different e-mail addresses and checked the spam folders but nothing works…

    Any suggestion? ??

Use the SMTP plugin as a test. Should be more reliable. OR the services I mentioned before.

I tried with the SMTP plugin but it didn’t work…

The problem doesn’t seem to be server side. What else do you think it could be?

I really don’t understand what happens… The e-mails seem to be sent but are never received. However, the clients receive the confirmations.

If customers are receiving the emails but you aren’t, and the log says they are sending – you might want to look into your own receiving address as the problem causer.

    1) Are you using a custom email address? Such as me[at]my-domain.com?
    2) Are the emails going to spam?

    (@swissprice)

    Hello Caleb,

Thank you very much for your reply!

    1) I am using a custom address e-mail but I also checked with a @icloud.com and a @gmail.com but that didn’t work either.

    2) I also checked the spam and the e-mails are not in the spam folders.

What do you think that can be?

    Plugin Contributor Mike Jolley (a11n)

    (@mikejolley)

Impossible to say really. If you do try something like Sendgrid it will actually give you delivery reports, so if there is an issue with your mail account for example you’ll know about it if it bounces ??
