    Hi,

I’ve been using the plugin for a few days.

I’ve got some problems with receiving email notification of changed files.

I set a daily scan frequency at 2 pm. Now, even if there are a few changed files, no notification email message is sent.

Only clicking “Launch Instant Scan” button a notification email is sent…

Notification email shouldn’t be automatically sent after a scheduled scan?

    Thanks!

    Regards,
    Roberto

Thank you for using our plugin @robertojobet and sorry to hear you are encountering such an issue.

The plugin should automatically send an email after a scan if there are file changes. If there are no file changes, it will alert you with a notification in the dashboard.

However, if you can see file changes reported in the plugin’s dashboard yet you got no emails we need to troubleshoot the issue. Here are some basic questions to start troubleshooting this:

    1) Can you please check the spam directory? (just in case)

    2) By default the plugin sends an email to the administrator email account configured in the WordPress settings. Can you confirm this is a correct email address and that you are checking this one?

    3) Do you have any other plugins that send emails on your website? Can you confirm if they work?

    4) Do you use the “standard” WordPress email system for delivery or do you have a third party plugin?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Hi Robert,

    Thanks for the feedback!

    1) No messages in spam folder
    2) Email address OK
    3) No
    4) Default WP email system

The only thing to stress out is that I disabled WP’s default cron system. I prefer to set a cPanel cron job that triggers WP cron every hour.
This could be an issue for your plugin?

    Thanks.

BTW as I said in my first message, clicking on “Launch Instant Scan” button a notification email is sent… so the email system is working fine!!

    Hi again,

This morning I received the email notification message at 10 am as expected!

    It seems now to work!

As I already told you in a previous thread, an automatic scan once a day is not enough…

In case of a compromission, I would prefer to receive a notification as soon as an unexpected file modification is carried out!

I really hope that you will include this feature in your next release!!

    Thanks for the good work!

    Regards,
    Roberto

Glad that you got the email and everything is working.

Most probably the first scan did not run or was missed because of the way you’ve setup the cron. However, now it is running fine.

We will indeed add more frequent scans, that is something we want to do for sure.

Thank you for using our plugin. Can you please rate the plugin and our service? These ratings help us continue develop the plugin.

    Hi again,

I’m still having issues with your plugin. Scheduled scan doesn’t find any changes…

Can you please send us an email on [email protected] so we can troubleshoot this?

We’d like to learn more about your setup, and it is better if you do not publish and information online.
