No – you don’t. Are pingbacks/trackbacks enabled in Settings->Discussion?

I think yes – This option is checked (Allow link notifications from other blogs (pingbacks and trackbacks.)

How old is the site? How do you know that you are missing trackbacks?

I know it is not working, because I posted a trackback on https://scrtchpad.wordpress.com and it did not show up on my site. You can check the post: https://scrtchpad.wordpress.com/2011/08/22/concurrency-patterns-producer-and-consumer/ which links back.

ok i just noticed that my comments feed is returning a 404 (https://scratchpad101.com/comments/feed/). Is there something special that I need to do to fix this?

Give a bit longer before you assume something is broken. Also check that you have enabled pinging in your wordpress.com blog.

Thanks for the update. The pinging is enabled in wordpress.com blog.

I noticed that the wordpress.com blog is sending pings to my comments feed and it received a 404. Hence i assumed that it is getting to my site but something was wrong.

I added a comment and checked that the feed works fine.

I will check in a day or so and get back on this forum.

And I checked that pingbacks are enabled on all the wordpress sites I have in discussion.

Any clue what could be wrong?
