Not recognizing existing posts with multi-word | hyphenated titles

Thanks very much for this plugin. For the most part it works great and is exactly what i was looking for.

I’ve noticed, though, that when I do batch re-imports with WordPress RSS xml, existing posts with spaces or hyphens in the titles do not get recognized, and in these cases re-importer adds a new, second post with the same title and a ‘-2’ permalink.

Is there anything that can be done to avoid this duplication?
