The second link above already existed. When I visited that page as an Admin, it created NEW link with “5” as the slug instead of recognizing the existing link. You can see in the screenshot that the destination url is identical.

This plugin is PERFECT for my uses, as long as it will recognize the existing shortlinks, or I can even update them in the admin or something so that what I already have in my YOURLS install will be synced with the live site.

    Thanks Chris!

Normally this is handled by your YOURLs instance. There are actually two modes, one allows duplicates and one doesn’t. Are you looking for a feature to support this independently within the plugin?

Ya, because I’ve been doing YOURLS on it’s own for quite a while, so I have dozens and dozens of links already. We’re just now getting to where we need to find them more quickly and on the fly across several team members so we just installed the plugin recently.

Fair enough. I’ve been looking at an excuse to do something with this plugin. I’ll take a look at adding something for this.

At minimum I think I’d love at least the option to NOT auto-create a shortlink, and instead search/generate with a click. Auto-generating at this point could really lead to a lot of clutter.

    Thanks Chris, much appreciated!

    Hey Matt!

Just checking in to let you know I haven’t forgotten about this. Assuming nothing blows up on me I’m planning on having an update that might help you either the wee of the 13th or the week of the 20th of this month.

Not a worry, appreciate the update. Thanks!
