Ok. The Plugin is Version 1.4.4 | By AMP Project Contributors. Does this help?

I have enabled AMP on my start page. However, when I do an AMP validation test it says that all kind of attributes is missing.

I have selected Static Page in the Reading menu and selected the right page as the homepage but it doesn’t work.

@hikeventures If you share your site URL we should be able to assist. If using AMP in standard more please temporarily switch to transitional mode so we can compare your AMP vs non AMP.

To check the AMP version of your site you can use the plugins admin bar, the AMP validator Chrome extension or append /amp or /?amp to your URLs. Search engines determine the version of your website (AMP or non AMP) to be served when discovered organically.

Thank you James. Here is the URL: https://www.hikeventures.com/amp/. It gives a 404 when I open the link on a desktop PC. AMP works if I open any post with /amp/ at the end. My AMP setting is currently on “Reader” mode.

@hikeventures Thanks for the update. You’ll find the AMP homepage URL at the following:
    https://www.hikeventures.com/?amp

It’s loading fine for me at present, using the correctly referenced amphtml link in your source code (?amp as opposed to /amp). You’ll find a previous support topic here with a link explaining the logic behind the differing query vars.

When checking the AMP version of your site you can use the previously referenced Chrome extension or the plugins admin toolbar.

Thanks a lot, James. Yes, it seems to work with ?amp at the end. There are some items (plugins) that are not loading but I probably need to ask the plugin developers about it.

@hikeventures No problem at all. You can also check with your theme developer to see if they plan on making some changes to their theme which would make it fully AMP compatible. That way you can go fully AMP using your existing theme via standard or transitional mode.

I have just visited my site with my mobile (iPhone) but it seems that it doesn’t load there the AMP. I just see the regular site. Should it not redirect to the AMP version if I enter the URL without AMP?

The AMP plugin does not automatically redirect mobile visitors to the AMP version, at least not yet. The AMP version is linked to from mobile search results, Twitter, and other platforms that integrate with AMP.

However, we are considering adding support for mobile redirection which you can see mentioned at https://github.com/ampproject/amp-wp/issues/2044

Here is an experimental add-on plugin which implements mobile redirection: https://gist.github.com/westonruter/5f4f27ed3bdd676e3f08524b9bab8bb4
