Hi, I have a site with several posts that I split on category. One of the categories is “site-updates” which is used as I document what has changed this month. Currently, there are only 6 of these.

In total there are only 253 posts of varying types. I order the site updates so that they are in descending date order. If I list ONLY site updates in the posts lists in the back end, then the order is incorrect.

The Category page on the front end also shows the same incorrect order.

If I view the reorder page it is in the correct order and if I view All Categories of posts on the back end then it is also in the correct order.

    Seems a little strange.

Just to add, I have looked at the database and the Menu Order appears to be set incorrectly in that the one I want sorted first is ordered 166 then 12 then 167, 168, 169.

The one numbered 12 resolutely refuses to be updated! I have just moved it again via the interface, updated and it still displays 12. Despite the fact it is about 167 and the others moved down.

There is nothing that I can see whereby it should be treated differently to the others. Can you shed any light please?

    Regards

OK, after reviewing things in PHP, the display has now positioned that post in the reorder at 12. Now I have moved it again and it is where it should be.

So, all is good for me but there was something wrong that you may like to review.

Many Thanks. I will close this.
