I can see in the plugin code that it should give different responses when submitting. Well, for me it is not working, I saved my Mailchimp API code, inserted the short code into footer widget area, it appears there and everything looks nice, but when I enter an email address and click the button, nothing happens. The button hover effect is shown, but clicking gives no response, as well as the email is actually not saved.

I did not change the code or anything, do you know what causes this?

Hi, can you share a link so I can see it happening? There might be a javascript error or something causing it to fail.

Sure, please see zizterz.ee, it uses Mr Tailor theme and I have’t seen many JS errors before though. Thanks for looking into it!

    How does it look?

I am having the same issue, that nothing happens when the user clicks on the button to sign up. The user is saved; I am getting a notification email of a new user that signed up. However, the ‘success’ message is not displaying to let the user know their action was completed.

    Any ideas?

    Hi @jewelsmac6,

A link to your site would be helpful. Also, you can try temporarily deactivating all plugins except Mailbag and switching to the default Twenty Sixteen theme, and then test to see if it works. If it does, start turning things back on one by one until it breaks again to determine which item is causing the issue.

Thank you! My website is bridgingthegap.vet. I turned off all the plugins and reactivated them like you said. Now it is working! I see the green “You have been successfully subscribed” message.

Then I went to sign up for a second time and instead of it telling me “You are already subscribed to this list” it shows the success message again. How can that be fixed?

So I just double checked my Mail Chimp list, and the test signup I submitted did not save. So I AM getting the ‘success’ message but the email is NOT getting the email saved to my MailChimp account.

I have confirmed in the settings that my MailChimp API is correct and I am able to select the list from the drop down menu.

I will use the MailChimp plugin for now until this is fixed so that I do not loose any subscribers.

    TIY!
