Not Seeing Block Visibility Editor in Blocks
-
Ever since the latest update, we’ve not been able to see any of the Block Visibility settings on the backend, when editing a page.
Any assistance you could give us would be greatly appreciated as we’re using it to control who can see pricing/buttons based on role, WP Fusion tag, etc.

Hi @jgprkatelyn,
Thanks for reaching out, and I apologize for the trouble. In the Editor, are you seeing any console errors? This will help me further diagnose the issue.
If you are unfamiliar with using the Browser Inspector to view errors, you can learn more here. Thanks,
NickI hope this helps.

Sorry for the delayed reply! Unfortunately, nothing in those errors point to Block Visibility, so it must be something else.
Can you share the version of WordPress you are running and the other plugins that are active. This will help me try and replicate on my end.
Thanks,
NickWe’re running 6.3.1.

So, I am no longer seeing it on the right hand side, but I do see if I click the three dots in the upper right hand corner, “Block Visibility Presets” which wasn’t there before. Is there a way to get it to show on the display for easy access?
Thanks for the additional information @jgprkatelyn. I am continuing to investigate, but am still not able to replicate it. Would you be able to tell me a bit more about the user permissions you might have implemented with the User Role Editor plugin?
In the meantime, if you need a fix ASAP, I would recommend rolling back to the previous version of the plugin. The easiest way to do this is by installing the WP Rollback plugin.
Thanks,
NickWould you be able to provide a link to the previous version, by chance? I don’t want to install another plugin on our site.
Would you be able to provide a link to the previous version, by chance?
Sure thing. I just added the zip for version 3.0.4 to the release on GitHub. You just need to click and download the block-visibility.zip file, then upload and install it to the site like normal. This will replace the current version.
Please do let me know if that resolves the issues for you. I am close to identifying what I think might be causing it, but I still haven’t been able to replicate the issue on my end.
Thanks,
NickThank you; so strange that that works. I’m able to see what I need within the Advanced tab. Thank you; I hope you’re able to further troubleshoot.
I did notice that it’s running a different PHP than the newer software. Could it have something to do with that on my install?
Hi @jgprkatelyn,
I believe was able to replicate the issue. There was a bug introduced in v3.1.0 that would hide the Visibility panel if the User Permissions setting was enabled in the plugin settings. This should be fixed in v3.1.2, which I just published. Sorry for the trouble.
Whenever you have time, please give it a test and let me know. Thanks!
Best,
NickThank you so much for your hard work! This is great.
