• For some reason, I’m not able to change the admin’s email address without confirming it. I never get the confirmation email. I’ve been trying for a couple weeks, and I’ve tried multiple email addresses. The confirmation email never shows up.

    Hi,

Are you receiving other emails from WordPress, or are none working (for example forgotten passwords and similar)?

If you’re not, it may be worth trying a test to check that your site is able to send emails in the first place, and if not, contact your host to get it resolved.

You may use the Health Check plugin to test emails in a basic way, once active you can visit Dashboard > Health Check > Tools, and there’s the email tester tool.

change it from database, email hardly arrives especially if you are using custom email

@iamkingsleyf: I’m not going to be doing any manual editing of the tables. There’s too much risk of corruption if you get into the habit of doing things like that. There should be a better solution.

@clorith: I don’t know the answer to your question. I installed that plugin. I’ll do some more testing today and update soon.

@clorith I am getting new registration emails, and lost password emails. I’m still trying to figure out why the email to change my admin password isn’t showing up.

I just updated to PHP 7.5. The website was running an older version, I believe PHP 5. I can’t remember. I’ll test again and see if this helps.

I ran that plugin you posted, and most things look good. There were a few red flags, and I’m not sure whether or not they are important.
