    I recently added your plug in and set it up. I noticed that my registered users (I don’t allow public users) are not getting emailed when I do new posts. I have checked settings and done several test posts but its still not working.

    I checked my settings and I have selected the option for private posts. I thought another plug in might be affecting it working called post levels so I deactivated it. I then tried a test post and it still was not notifing users of a new post posted.

    So I am confused about where the problem lays. I have checked everything I can think of. To add I am sure its working in some way as when I set it up I used the send a message section, to message everyone to let them know. I know this sent OK.

    Please help me, I am totally stuck! Thank you.

  • @rosie-rose,

    I would suggest that you install an email logging plugin like the one linked below. This will help you to see what emails are being generated as sending might be blocked on the server. Also check the sender email, set the number of recipients to 1 and make sure no categories are excluded in the Settings page.

    Thanks. I have installed the plugin you spoke about. I also changed the number of recipients to 1 and everything else you asked. I then checked the email log. Under To it only mentioned one email, one of my registered users email. I thought this was because of changing the setting to 1 like you said. So I put it back to 0. Did another test email and checked the email log. The same information was displayed, so under To I saw one of my registered subscribers email.

    What do I do next? as its obviously not sending to all my registered users. I have no idea what is going wrong.

    Thanks for your help.

    @rosie-rose,

    Did you registered users exist before you installed Subscribe2? If you got to Subscribe2->Subscribers, how many Registered Users and Registered Subscribers do you have?

    It seems very likely that you registered users existed before the plugin and they don’t have an active subscription. At the bottom of the Registered Users tab in Sybscribe2->Subscribers you can bulk subscribe them if desired or send them an email from Subscribe2->Send Email advising them to log in and subscribe themselves.

    Thank you. Problem solved. I did what you said and under registered users I bulk subscribed them. I think I assumed they would all be subscribed when the plugin was installed, I didn’t realise I need to go to that page and select all the catorgories and then press bulk button underneath. I did a test message and all my subscribers got the email.

    Thank you so much.

    @rosie-rose,

    The plugin doesn’t automatically subscribe people as it’s designed to function as opt-in code to avoid allegations of spamming. Of course I’ve had to build in the ability for admins to be able to edit and bulk edit subscriptions for instances such as new installs on existing sites but I try to leave as much choice as possible open to users of Subscribe2.
