    Hi guys,

It was working all right, sharing the quiz results on social media and they were linked to my site, but suddenly it has stopped working and instead of sharing results it just shares the link to the quiz on your site, Playbuzz.com.

Have you stopped offering the feature or is it a bug?

Please, respond as soon as possible, cheers,

    Syl

Well, they should certainly offer some sort of explanation soon, since the information on the plugin description starts by noting very clearly that the embeds will appear and function as native part of one’s site content.

I don’t mind that PlayBuzz’s linked ‘Powered by..’ logo appears on the content, I mean, fair enough, but the embeds should work like they have described, otherwise it would be misleading.

I personally spent money advertising the new feature on my site on social media. Now the quizzes don’t function as they should (allowing users to share their results) and neither the traffic I paid for is staying on my site.

I was also going to use their service to add my own quizzes, too, which are generally very popular, instead of the service I’ve been using, thus benefiting their site as well.

A fix, an explanation, something is in order.

    Hi,

When someone shares on your pages even though the share caption says PlayBuzz it will redirect to the page the item was embedded in. So when users on Facebook and any other social network will click on it they will be directed to your website.

Not all share options have the same impact within Facebook and are compliance with Facebook guidelines, we are in search for the best solution for your website.

The main problem is that sharing the parent host URL directly means the wrong Image + Title + Description on the share, resulting in very bad user experience for your users. We are also in contact with Facebook about this matter.

We are now working on a solution for dedicated to WordPress that will hopefully solve the problem without hurting any user experience.

Rest assure that this is a top priority for us!

Let me know if you have any more questions, I’ll be happy to answer them.

It’s not only a wordpress problem, if you go on and play any quiz on your website, sharing your results opens up a share quiz -not result- window.

We appreciate the response, but just so you know, none of the quizzes share the results now, as R3volv3R has pointed out, and, the caption goes to PlayBuzz.com not to one’s site.

The really odd thing is that they used to work just fine, so what has changed? If there was a problem original from Facebook or WordPress (?sorry but isn’t this a dedicated plugin for WP?), then none would have behaved correctly in the first place, but they did, they just stopped functioning correctly overnight.

I believe, like R3volv3R does, that the problem originates in your site.

I, for one, can’t afford to be re-directing users outside my site.

    Hi all,

Rest assure, all shared posts from your website go back to- YOUR website…
The shared post caption displays playbuzz.com (Facebook default, nothing that we can do about it), but the link goes to the original page on which the item is embedded. Also, you may choose to take down the share buttons offered by PlayBuzz and place your own share buttons on the page instead. Either way, all traffic generated out of shared posts originating from your site, go back to your site.

maybe dont mark posts [resolved] when the issue is not resolved? ??

How can this be marked as solved when it is not??
At least you should have the guts to tell us you can’t fix something that was alright some months ago!
And you know what? It’s not Facebook’s fault. Buzzfeed quizzes are working when someone shares the results!
