• Its not showing up on my site down in the right hand corner.
I have the Google Places API Key and that’s entered.
In the Advanced Options tab the CSS isn’t enabled.

Is the API key number the same as the one from here?

In the Widget Google Places Reviews there’s this, Location Lookup. What goes in that field?
Place ID number or my business name?
I tried both but when I do Save it takes it back out.

Hi there. It seems you’re most likely having trouble with the API key. Here’s our docs on creating that properly:
    https://wordimpress.com/documentation/google-places-reviews/creating-your-google-places-api-key/

Once that is configured correctly, all you need to do in the Lookup is search for your business by NAME and you’ll see it in a list of suggestions. Click on it and the widget will populate your info automatically.

Let me know how that goes and if you have further questions. Thanks!

All this just to get my website reviews from Google Maps to appear on my site?

I have the Get a Key but after that the screen shot per the instructions isn’t what I see. I also never saw this
    3. You’ll be presented with a modal which allows you to choose an existing API Project, or create a new one. Do either, then click on “Enable API”. There was no Enable API after I got my key.
I also don’t see any of this: No Library.
To enable the Maps Javascript API, click on “Library” in the far left-hand sidebar.
    6. In the search bar at the top of that screen type in “Maps” and one of the options will be “Google Maps Javascript API.” Click on that.
    7. Then click on the “Enable API” button towards the top of the screen.

Is the Word Press and the Widget needed?

Unfortunately, yes, Google makes you jump through quite a few hoops to authorize the use of their Reviews API. The video walkthrough on that link I provided is the most instructive I believe, but honestly Google also changes their interface so quickly it’s difficult to keep up. Regardless, the API key is necessary and once it’s setup you just drop it into our settings and all should go fine from there.

The instructions after you get the key which i did say Finish. Not what the video and instructions said. I’m now wondering if what I want is this.
I installed in WP the plugin called Google Places Reviews. Then I added the API key per the instructions. Google Places API Key in the required field on the About tab. Is that it?
I also went to Widgets and dragged the Google Places Reviews over to my Homepage.
    Then I see this:
This page didn’t load Google Maps correctly. See the JavaScript console for technical details. There’s no place to enter any code. Is Establishment the one to pick from?

I know someone and I’m looking at their business site and in the bottom right hand corner what I see is this:
The Google G, Google Rating and 5 stars.
Is what I’m doing here to get this?
Wish we could add screen shots in this forum.

    You said
all you need to do in the Lookup is search for your business by NAME and you’ll see it in a list of suggestions.
I have no NAME and no Lookup on my widget.

I was able to get the KEY and the steps that followed per the video instructions and enter the KEY into the plugin itself. When I went to Widgets in Word Press there’s no NAME and no Lookup in it.

The “name” is your business name. Once you start typing your business name you’ll see it as a list of recommendations. Click on it and it will populate what you need.
