Hello guys. Going strong on WP, but ran into a bump when upgrading to 3.5 from 3.2.

The issue is that pictures from my galleries pop-up on the middle og the page and not the middle of the screen as it did previously.

Take a look at a fairly small gallery from the website here: https://www.sabaki.dk/VKS/aktivitetsbilleder/2008-2/letland-2008/
(Don’t mind that the site is not in English.)

The pictures can almost not be seen. It gets even worse with bigger galleries, like this one: https://www.sabaki.dk/VKS/aktivitetsbilleder/2012-2/wkf-med-nordrhein-westfalen-2012/

I have tried different lightbox plugins, but they are all broken. I even tried this guide to fix the problem: https://www.ehow.com/how_8701807_do-lightbox-popup-center-screen.html

It did not help. I looked here, to see if people had a similar problem, but mostly people had problems with their uploading of images. I do not at the moment.
I even switched to easy fancybox. It looks nice, but does not work.

Can anyone help me, or is this a deep problem?

I’ve experienced that problem within the www.ads-software.com Themes section https://www.ads-software.com/extend/themes/twentytwelve – When clicking on the image.

I haven’t switched browsers to explore whether this is browser-specific. I’m using Google Chrome latest version.

I have tried clicking my gallery in both Chrome and Safari. There is no difference between them.

It seems to be okay in Firefox — but your pages seems to be missing some important things in the header — including the DOCTYPE. So you might want to check on the validation errors:

I have read “Validating a Website” now. I still think, that doing these tasks will not solve my problem. As Andrew Nevins pointed out, the same problem occurs here: https://www.ads-software.com/extend/themes/twentytwelve

I think it’s a broader problem. I was just wishing for someone who had a hotfix for this, or would recommend me to downgrade back to 3.2 where things worked fine for me.
(Or another version that didn’t have this problem.)

I looked at your page again and this time, it showed the problem. Since fancybox uses jQuery (javascript), it may well be a javascript problem. So now the task is to figure out where the problem is — this thread goes through the troubleshooting steps to do that:

Also, the missing DOCTYPE should definitely be fixed too — IE in particular has major problems without a valid DOCTYPE.

I’m sorry, but that doesn’t do the trick.

I think the best solution is to go back to a previous version of WordPress.

hmm. I seems that I couldn’t make the transition to a previous version of WordPress.
The theme I use is “Clean Simple White” and I can’t find a way to change DOCTYPE on it.
Any specific help on how to change it?

and any suggestions for lightbox-ish plugin solutions that work with 3.5?

as mentioned before, there is even trouble on the wordpress website: https://www.ads-software.com/extend/themes/twentytwelve

I found a solution!

WPyogi was right. The problem was the doctype. The theme I use was not updated and caused the problem.

in my header.php and it works fine now ??
